Welcome to

WELCOME to Great Lakes Grinders & Restaurant! A local cafe, recently purchased and renovated by Tom Hendrick, brings wholesome food and friendly service to Muskegon.
Located at 4333 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI, Great Lakes Grinders, features fresh quality home cooking. "We are reinventing slow roasted quality," owner Hendrick stated."We are a pizza and grinder restaurant, specializing in soups, salads, burgers and comfort foods for dine in or take out."

Great Lakes Grinders open their doors on May 26, 2015. Hendrick is originally from Okemos, MI, but has lived in Holland and is glad to be back in the area. "It feels like coming home."

Hendrick's extensive thirty-five plus years of restaurant experience includes twenty-eight years as a Bob Evans manager. Retiring as Bob Evans Northwest Area Director, after achieving Area Director of the Year, and receiving the Top Ten District Award twice.

Hendrick saw the charm this little stone front restaurant and knew it had potential. After completely gutting the interior and rebuilding the floors, bathrooms, and adding new kitchen equipment, he had award winning Eric Kravako paint a beautiful Great Lakes scene in the dining room.

Lunch, dinner, or catering your next event, Great Lakes Grinders & Restaurant, is your home town comfort food cafe.

We got a visit from ex-Detroit Tiger Pitcher Denny Mclain (Tom Hendrick pictured left and Denny Mclain on the right), who told us our sandwiches would be a home run!
